MUSIC MONDAY: Happy Music Monday Musicians! Today we are reviewing Thirty Purple Birds and reading a music story Over in the Jungle. We will review the rhythms for the Hand Drum Canon, then play along with the Hand Drum Canon. Play the videos; you can play as much or as little as you like.

SCIENCE/WRITING: Most of this week will be spent working on your boat or bridge planning and building project.

GRADE 2: You will be building a boat! This boat must be waterproof, float on water, be stable, carry a load, and be propelled through water. You can use any materials you have at home to build your boat and we would like to see the testing, so be sure to take photos and/or a video and send it to us! You are expected to fill in the design/planning sheet, following the expectations in the rubric. When your boat is finished, you will fill in the reflection sheet to show what you've learned.

GRADE 3: You will be building a bridge! This bridge must be span 50 cm, support weight (a can of soup), and be strong, stable, and balanced. You can use any materials you have at home to build your bridge and we would like to see the testing, so be sure to take photos and/or video and send it to us! You are expected to fill in the design/planning sheet, following the expectations in the rubric. When your bridge is finished be sure to finish the design sheet with what you learned.

NUMERACY
GRADE 2: We are going to do a little review of measurement. Remember when we measured our bodies to make paper chain skeletons the same size as us? Today we'll do some estimating and measuring to find the actual length of things at your house. Then we will use a piece of string to measure the distance around an object.
Watch this video to remind you how to measure using a ruler. Then complete the sheet you see. Just use things around your house.
GRADE 3: We are starting division today! Division is the opposite of multiplication and it allows us to divide or share numbers to find an answer. Handy for when you have 10 cookies and 5 friends and need to know how many cookies each person gets! Let's start first with sharing into equal groups. Check out the poster and complete the practice sheet. Be sure to draw the equal groups.
